It has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, huge windows, and a mezzanine with a modern kitchen, dining area, and tv salon with library. The mezzanine makes use of the high ceilings and is positioned so the most is made of the views over the garden, and mountains beyond. There is one flight of steep stairs leading up to the mezzanine. If you have reduced mobility this may be an obstacle for you.
Ancienne Ecole is on the edge of a small quiet village, and attached on one side only, to what used to be the Mayors’ office, now our house, and is completely independant with its own entrance door and outside seating.
Do feel free to make use of the lovely garden with its flower beds and different seating areas to eat, read a book or just gaze at the view.
The village is perched on a promontory with spectacular views. We are in the heart of the beautiful Livradois Forez Natural Park, an area of mountain pastures and forests with lowing cattle and wildflowers.
Our closest town of Ambert (famous for its cheese) 10 mins away has cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, and a fabulous twice weekly open air market.
